Fragments of Uncertainty
This work was made shortly after a very difficult loss at a time when I couldn’t do anything but put together mindless puzzles. This occurred before the pandemic, but once stuck at home, this only furthered the momentum of boredom and grief. The puzzles became paintings by gluing, framing and either covering or revealing parts of the found image. The work was not intended to be about irony, but rather about banality – the boredom required to work through struggle.
