Work > Grey and Still

These works were made while in grad school and shortly after. I was attempting to navigate utility and abstraction, reality and fiction, and the formal elements of colour, line, volume, composition, and scale. I was looking for overlaps between the home, studio and gallery as a way to question the boundaries between art and life. Representations of furniture, objects of use, tools, pedestals, and large abstract forms were all used to make honest reflections of my life. The everyday was interpreted, re-contextualized and abstracted as a reflection of life passing through me.
